If you've got some questions about the YDC, you're in the right place. Refunds, what to bring, and food on the day are answered here.

Do I need to bring anything?

No. We provide food, writing materials and a potential network. Just bring yourself.

What's the dress code?

Smart casual. We're dentists, not accountants.

How many CPD/CE hours will I get?

Please check the individual event page for details of CPD/CE hours.

How can I pay?

We accept credit card for the conference. Fast, secure and simple.

Can I claim this dental conference back on tax?

Dentists should be able to claim dental conferences on tax, but we strongly recommend consulting with your accountant for all taxation matters. We will provide you with an invoice when you pay for your registration.

Will you be hosting a conference in my city?

Hopefully. If you're interested in attending YDC in your city, please let us know.

Is onsite registration available?

Unfortunately, onsite registration is not available for this conference.

Is there ample parking at the conference venue?

Parking is available nearby.

Is there lunch at the conference?

Yes, morning tea and lunch are all provided at the conference on the first day, and morning tea and lunch are provided on the second day.

If I have to, how do I cancel my attendance?

Please email us indicating your name and advising of any cancellations or substitution delegate information.

Is there a refund if I can't attend for some reason?

Yes, we have a refund policy. If you alert us more than four weeks prior to the start of the conference of your unavailability, we can refund 100% of the purchase price.

If you alert us more than two weeks prior to the start of the conference but less than four weeks of your unavailability, we can refund 75% of the purchase price.

If you alert us more than one week prior to the start of the conference but less than two weeks of your unavailability, we can refund 50% of the purchase price. If you alert us within the week of the conference, we cannot provide any refund.

Failure to attend on the day will constitute a late cancellation and no refund will be given. As an alternative to cancellation a substitution delegate is welcome at any time without penalty.

Will I have the chance to meet and network with other dentists?

That's entirely up to you. We encourage young dentists to form networks at YDC - dentistry can be a stressful occupation, and not many people understand the challenges. We'll provide the platform, and you provide the voice.

Who can I talk to about the conference?

Simply fill in our contact form, and we'll be in touch within three days.

Does subscribing for email updates register me for the conference?

No. Subscribing for email updates and registering for the conference are two different things. Subscribing for the email conference just means that you get regular updates about the conference. Registering means that you have either paid for your ticket (if an individual ticket is purchased) or have signed up to pay as a group member.

    Groups at YDC

    If you're part of a group at the Young Dental Conference, these FAQs could be helpful for you.

    What if I don’t meet the minimum number of people for a group?

    If you pay your registration, but your group doesn't meet the minimum number of three attendees, we'll email you for payment for the difference between the Group and Full ticket price. This needs to be paid before the event for your registration to be valid.

    Can I add more people to my group later? How?

    Absolutely. Just send them the link that we emailed to you, when you first signed up as a group organiser.

    How does my group know that I’ve added them?

    They’ll receive an email from us, but we highly recommend that you get in touch with them personally.

    Can I be part of more than one group?

    No, you can only be part of one group.

    What if I want to leave my group and start my own?

    Email us at and we’ll see what we can do.

    I’m an organiser - how will I know if the rest of my group has paid?

    Just email us at and we can let you know.

    Do I need to pay upfront for my entire group?

    No, you just need to pay for your own discounted ticket.

    What if my group member is part of several groups?

    They’ll have to choose to be part of one group. It’s tough, we know, but everyone’s got a favourite dentist.

    How long does my group have to pay?

    Your group members have 14 days to pay for their individual ticket.

    What happens if they all don’t register, or if I fall short of the group number of 3?

    If you fall short of the group number for eligibility, you’ll either have to round up another member in order to meet the minimum requirement of 3, or pay the regular price as an individual attendee.
